Checking the region code of your DVD player
Disc players and DVDs are created for playback within specified areas—typically the areas of the world in which they were purchased. You can determine the region of you DVD player, then check if it matches the region code printed on your DVD to ensure compatibilty.
To view the DVD player region code:
- Insert a DVD into your system console and begin playing it
- On the remote control, press the Stop button to stop playback
- Press the Settings button
Tip: If the system menu does not appear on your TV, be sure the correct TV input is selected - Scroll down to DVD Status
- At the bottom of the DVD Status menu, note the number shown next to Region Code. (Note: This number represents the region code of your DVD player, not the inserted DVD.)
