Understanding your remote control

Hover your cursor over the buttons on the simulator below to learn about each button’s function:

power: turns the system on and off.

source: displays and selects connected devices from the source list on your tv.

tv power: turns your tv on or off.

menu: displays the menu for a connected device.

guide: displays your set top box or tv program guide, or blu-ray disc™ player popup menu.

page up: moves to the next page.

page down: moves to the previous page.

info: displays program information.

exit: clears a menu or guide from your tv screen.

navigation pad: moves up, down, left or right in onscreen menus and control console displays.

ok: selects or confirms highlighted item.

volume up/down: increases (+) or decreases (-) the system volume.

mute: mutes/unmutes system speakers (press and hold to mute/unmute all rooms).

more: displays additional device-specific controls and information on your tv. also allows access to bose® system options.

image view: changes the way video appears.

channel up/down: next/previous channel or preset.

last channel: returns to last channel or preset.

shuffle: randomly plays music from a cd. press again to cancel shuffle mode.

quick replay/skip backward: moves back a few seconds on your dvr or other digital video recording devices.

record: activates recording on a recording device.

quick skip/skip forward: moves ahead a few seconds on your dvr or other digital video recording devices.

play: starts or resumes play for most audio or video devices.

seek backward/rewind: with most audio and video devices: rewinds or moves backwards through a track, chapter or song. with am and fm: moves to the previous strong radio station.

stop: stops play for an audio or video device such as: ipod®, cd, dvd, vcr or dvr program.

seek forward/fast forward: with most audio and video devices: advances or moves forward through a track, chapter or song. with am and fm: moves forward to the next strong radio station.

pause: press to briefly stop an audio or video device such as: ipod®, cd, dvd, vcr or dvr program.

numeric keypad: allows manual entry of channels and settings.

tv input: changes inputs on your tv.
