How do I connect the Bose Smart Soundbar 300 to my TV?
The Bose Smart Soundbar 300 uses a single connection to your TV via an optical audio cable (included) or an HDMI™ cable (sold separately).
Does the Bose Smart Soundbar 300 have a headphone output?
No. However, using Bose SimpleSync™ technology, you can wirelessly pair the Bose Smart Soundbar 300 with the Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 for synchronized sound with separate volume levels — which means you can lower or mute your soundbar while keeping your headphones loud. This connection is restricted to one soundbar and one pair of headphones at one time.
Does the Bose Smart Soundbar 300 have Wi-Fi built in?
Yes. The soundbars use the 802.11ac Wi-Fi standard.
Does the Bose Smart Soundbar 300 have Bluetooth built in?
Yes. Bluetooth technology allows you to stream audio from any source (like YouTube) directly to the soundbar. And when your friends visit, they can simply connect via Bluetooth and easily stream their content, too.
Can the Bose Smart Soundbar 300 be used with other Bose smart speakers and soundbars as part of a multi-room system?
Yes. The Bose Smart Soundbar 300 can play in synchronized multi-room groups with additional Bose smart speakers and soundbars.
What accessory components are available for the Bose Smart Soundbar 300?
If you want to add deeper bass to your soundbar, you can add on the optional wireless Bose Bass Module 700 or Bass Module 500. If you want to have a more immersive surround sound experience, you can add the optional wireless Bose Surround Speakers 700 or Bose Surround Speakers. Add a bass module and surround speakers if you want the full 5.1 experience.
Can I connect two wireless bass modules to my soundbar?
Yes. If you desire even more bass, you can wirelessly connect two bass modules to the Bose Smart Soundbar 300. But you can only connect two of the same bass modules. In other words, you must connect two Bose Bass Module 700 units or Bose Bass Module 500 units to a single soundbar. You cannot connect one Bose Bass Module 700 and one Bose Bass Module 500 to a single soundbar.
How do I wirelessly connect the optional Bose Bass Module and/or Surround Speakers?
The optional accessory speakers and bass modules are paired via the Bose Music app during the initial product setup. You will be prompted to add your accessory speakers after you download the Bose Music app and start the setup process. If you did not add a bass module or speakers during the initial setup process (or if you purchase them later) you can go into the settings menu for your soundbar in the Bose Music app and add them at any time.
Are the Bose Surround Speakers wireless?
Yes. The Bose Surround Speakers connect wirelessly to the Bose Smart Soundbar 300 — so no wires are required from the front of the room to the rear. But the Bose Surround Speakers do require electrical power to power the wireless receiver and there is speaker wire connecting the wireless receiver to the speaker itself.
Can source devices, such as a cable box, Blu-ray player, gaming system, etc., be connected directly to the Bose Smart Soundbar 300?
No. All sources must be connected to the TV and then a single connection (via the HDMI or optical cable) must be made from the TV to the soundbar.
Can I use Chromecast to cast audio content to groups of Bose smart speakers and soundbars?
Yes. You can cast audio content to your group of Bose smart speakers or soundbars through the Bose Music app or on the products themselves. Start by creating a group in the Bose Music app and casting to that group, or by pressing and holding the Action button on the connecting device to pair them into a group that’s playing a cast stream. Group your ground floor speakers, or all the speakers in the house and get the party started.
